2011 November AQHA World Champ

Smart Spook, NRHA's highest money earning stallion ever, made his first, (and perhaps last!) venture in to the dark and dangerous world of the Amateur World of Reining at the 2011 November AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City with Francesca Sternberg aboard. Francesca had qualified in the UK on Just Gotta Rein during the summer and travelled to the AQHA World Show on the International Invitation scheme. Having never ridden Spook before it was a big challenge on both their behalf's to be ready in a matter of three days, but they both rose to the challenge and earned a place in the finals. With another two days of practice it was finals time and a rather nervous, to say the least, rider burst through the gates to a lot of cheering from Spook's many fans. Despite a few mistakes on Francesca's behalf and a large one point penalty, Spook managed to keep the pace going and the pair ended up in 5th place, a great achievement considering the lack of preparation time. Francesca was worried that her sister, Rosanne, might be disappointed in the result but Rosanne merely said she had better try to qualify again and come back next year to do better!
